Energy
In this time of soaring energy costs, our Congressman should be leading the charge on energy issues. Unfortunately, having elected a liberal leadership that does not believe in using our own resources, our Congressman has not.Instead of working to use the natural energy sources available in our district, including coal and natural gas stored in the Marcellus Shale deposit, our Congressman has bowed to liberals like Nancy Pelosi and ignored the needs of District 4. This follow the leader mentality has cost jobs to this district during one of the hardest economic times we have seen in decades.
I will fight for an energy policy that takes advantage of the great resources we have in our district and the entire United States. In addition to using coal, natural gas and nuclear power (which will all contribute to significant job gains in our district) we need to press ahead with drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and Outer Continental Shelf. It is time to become energy independent and to end the practice of buying energy from those who do not share our values.
