Family Values
I am pro-life and believe that all human beings have an inalienable right to life from the moment of conception to natural death, and I believe that the nation’s laws should reflect this foundational principle of our Republic. I will not support taxpayer funding of abortions in any manner, and I will not support giving any tax dollars to any organization that provides or promotes abortion.I will encourage policies that favor adoption and encourage parental involvement in decisions that involve minors. Government funding of embryonic stem cell research violates the conscience of millions of Americans who are forced to pay for such research, and has shown no useful treatment. With 112 existing adult stem cell treatments now in approved use and none using embryonic stem cells, there is no ethical or scientific justification to continue this line of research with valuable tax dollars.
I believe that the family is the basic building block of society and that the stronger the family, the stronger the society, and the less need for government intrusion into our lives. I will protect the family from threats to redefine it or to undercut its importance. I will vote to protect the institution of marriage as being between one man and one woman.
Founder’s Corner
"If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the general welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one subject to particular exceptions."
-James Madison
Remembering Reagan
"In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."
