Rothfus Outraises Buchanan in the First Quarter
April 19, 2010The April 15th Federal Election Commission Filings came as no surprise to those watching the race in Pennsylvania’s Fourth Congressional District. The candidate who has spoken about the issues, outworked his opponent, and built a strong grassroots organization has also raised more money than his primary opponent.
Despite superficial name recognition and endlessly repeated claims of party support, Mary Beth Buchanan appears to have little support overall and still less in the district in which she is running.
Rothfus said “I am profoundly grateful for the support I have received, and encouraged by the hundreds of people in the Fourth Congressional District who have given me their vote of confidence by contributing to my campaign. There is no doubt in my mind that voters in this district want real change. They are tired of the Washington establishment. They want a congressman that understands business, not another government insider.”
“In every corner of this district, I have talked to men and women who want to have a citizen-legislator representing them and standing up for their values in Washington. With their help, I am confident that we can not only win the Republican primary on May 18 but prevail in November. My opponent’s campaign is not only out of ideas, but out of money as well.”
