Rothfus Calls on Altmire to Show Leadership, Say No to Obamacare
February 25, 2010FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Today, Keith Rothfus, candidate in the Fourth Congressional District, called on Congressman Jason Altmire to show leadership and independence from Nancy Pelosi. Rothfus urges Altmire to take an early and public stand against the bad legislation, by voting against the “new” Obama Health Care Proposal released today:
“The sensible people of Pennsylvania have spoken. They are concerned about spending, waste, and the government pushing its way into their lives. This “new” proposal will still cost taxpayers a trillion dollars, create countless government bureaucracies, and put government in charge of personal health care decisions. This is not what the people of Pennsylvania want.”
“Jason Altmire needs to say no to the new packaging of this old plan. We need to provide more options for health care coverage, including interstate marketing of insurance, tax fairness for individuals who buy their own insurance, and tort reform. We do not need a rehash of the legislation that was overwhelmingly rejected less than a year ago.”
Rothfus is the only candidate in the race for the Fourth Congressional District to sign the Repeal It Pledge to the people of Pennsylvania, promising to repeal any federal health care takeover and replace it with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government.
